This New Shell live lobster special is in honor of National Lobster Day (September 25th)! We are offering a special price on 6-count or 12-count of live New Shell Quarters (1.25-1.4 lbs. each) and New Shell Halves (1.5-1.75 lbs. each) through September!
Each year, lobsters shed their shells to grow larger. In midsummer, their shells are very thin, & they are too delicate to ship (why so many come to Maine for the summer experience!).
By fall, the shells are firm enough to ship, but the meat is still tender & incredibly sweet, as they are still considered to be ‘new shell.’ Making fall the perfect time to enjoy fresh Stonington, Maine lobster!
