About Our Lobsters
Our lobsters are harvested by a dedicated fleet of Stonington, Maine lobstermen and women, many of whom have been delivering their daily catch of lobsters from the waters of Penobscot Bay to the Greenhead Lobster docks for generations. Stonington, Maine lobster is widely recognized as the best lobster in Maine because of its sweet flavor and the abundance of landings. Available year-round, taste for yourself!

It starts at the dock. On the docks daily for over 25 years, Greenhead Lobster is Maine’s largest family-owned lobster supplier. Nestled in the Gulf of Maine, the Penobscot Bay provides the perfect environment for producing sweet lobster—cold, clean water, rocky, rural shores. The result is the most delicious, tender, sweet lobster, delivered to our docks every day.
Superior handling. Our dockside tank rooms filter ocean water, providing the most natural environment to hold lobsters while they are graded for size and quality. Lobsters for the live market are then trucked to our Seabrook, NH fulfillment facility. This tank room location makes shipping nation and worldwide easy.
State-of-the-art Processing. After more than 25 years in the live lobster business, owner, Hugh Reynolds, recognized the importance of quality seafood processing and invested in creating the highest quality processing facility, located just 40 minutes from our Stonington, Maine docks. This investment allows Greenhead Lobster to have quality control over every step of processing.
High Pressure Processing. Using a High Pressure Processor (HPP) is what sets lobster processors apart. Sending live lobsters through our HPP allows for the quickest, most humane transition into the processing line. This stress-free, non-thermal process preserves flavor + texture.
